Produced in conjunction with a summer 2005 PBS televison event, this 72-track, all-stereo collection presents classics and rarities from the Detroit hit factory known as Motown Records. Many new and extended mixes are exclusive to this collection, such as the Miracles’ “Goin’ to a Go-Go” and “The Tracks of My Tears,” the Supremes’ “Stop! In the Name of Love,” the Temptations’ “My Girl,” the Marvelettes’ “Please, Mr. Postman,” Martha and the Vandellas’ “Heat Wave,” the Four Tops’ “Baby, I Need Your Loving,” and Stevie Wonder’s “Uptight (Everything’s Alright).” Among the selections on the “B Sides and Novelities” disc are “Purple Raindrops” by Stevie Wonder, “Just Look What You’ve Done” by Brenda Holloway, and “Third Finger, Left Hand” by Martha & the Vandellas.
